Pine Barrens is a top down triangular shawl which can be worked with a special hand-dyed yarn from At Knits End Yarns, or with any yarn, or yarns, of your choice. The simple openwork of the body of the shawl, lends itself to any weight of yarn. You can knit it all with one yarn, or change yarns after working an odd number of repeats of the body of the shawl.
This pattern includes both charted and written instructions.
The sample used 80 grams of suggested yarn, less than 437 yards, and is a perfect one-skein project, or an opportunity to use smaller amounts of 2 colors of yarn.
The shawl can be made bigger/smaller by working more/less repeats of Chart B,
And/or more or less repeats of the last 6 rows of Chart C.
Instructions and stitch counts are given for customization.
The 2 color shawl as shown is from a custom kit @At Knits End Yarns Etsy shop.
The green shawl is made with less than 1 skein of MadelineTosh Merino Light in Jade.
Chart B 6 stitches x 6 rows = approx 1" after blocking.
Gauge is not very important, but is helpful if making modifications.

My name is Deborah, and I design under the name ObliviousKnits. I've been making things my whole life, mostly self-taught. I taught myself to knit about 9 years ago? I got obsessed!
I also crochet, bead, paint, draw, play with fiber and drop spindle, all while watching disgusting amounts of tv. My husband and I play guitar and write songs, but mostly I like playing with YARN.
