This lovely shawlette has four variations... all feature a basket weave patterned body that is simple to learn and quick to knit. It can be shaped either as an asymmetrical right triangle or as a skinnier symmetrical isosceles triangle. Either shape can be edged with a ruffle (worked in short rows as you go) or a crocheted chain edging (added after the body is worked.)
The size of this shawlette is easily customizable, and if you're not afraid of a little arithmetic, the pattern notes include instructions for calculating the required yardage for any size and combination of features. But if you think math is no picnic, use one typical skein of fingering weight yarn to get the sizes shown here.
This pattern is especially well suited for hand painted yarns, since the texturing of the fabric breaks up any potential pooling of the colors.

I've crocheted just about my whole life. I taught myself to knit in the early 2000s and haven't slowed down since. I've also gone through counted cross-stitch and needlepoint periods.
I almost always modify knitting patterns I like, so about a year ago I started designing and publishing my own patterns.
All of the patterns that I sell have been tech edited and test knit before release.
