Pi (the Greek letter "?") is the symbol used in mathematics to represent the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter which is approximately 3.14159. This cowl is a circle made into a circle with stripes sized according to the digits of Pi. A nerd's delight!

Gauge - For lace (fingering, sport, DK, worsted) weight yarn, 26 (24, 22, 20, 18) stitches = 4"/10 cm in stockinette stitch. Gauge is not crucial, but will affect finished size.
