Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit/purl in the round
  • stranded colorwork
  • short row heel
  • grafting

Pattern Description:

A pair of textured socks with a band of stranded colorwork on the leg. I'm sure you'll love to wear this fun pear with a bite socks too. They are knitted cuff down with a short row heel.

This pattern contains detailed shaping instructions with a row by row short-row heel, a stitch guide and all stitch patterns (texture and colorwork) both charted and written.

Yarn: Fingering weight sock yarn;
Main color: 350-400 yards (variegated colorway suggested)
Contrasting color 1: 40 yards (yellow or white suggested)
Contrasting color 2: 40 yards (green suggested)
Contrasting color 3: 10 yards (brown suggested)


32 stitches and 48 rows = 4 inches in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Woman medium (8" around foot) To modify size, check gauge then go down (smaller) or up (larger) a needle size. Easy tip!


  • Fingering weight sock yarn
  • Size US 1 / 2.25 mm (or size to get gauge) and US 2 / 2.75mm (or one size larger) DPNs, 2 circulars or long circular for magic loop
