  • 2 colour knitting

Pattern Description:

Inspired by a traditional African woven pattern and turned into an ultra warm mitten fabric in Nova Scotia! These striking mittens may have either a traditional ribbed or a double thickness internal cuff.

This project is also available as a kit from my website.


9.5 stitches per inch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Adult medium. This size may be adjusted up or down by means of needle size


  • size 2.25 mm dpns
  • size 2 mm dpns for ribbing
  • 50 grams light coloured fingering weight yarn
  • 50 grams dark or contrasting fingering weight yarn
  • (optional) 50 grams for the cuff contrast

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch marker or running yarn marker

Suggested yarn:

350 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:
