Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, knit in the round, grafting (Kitchener stitch)

Pattern Description:

This is a super easy hat, knit entirely in the round with no increasing or decreasing. The shaping comes at the end when you simply graft one half of the stitches to the other half, fold up the corners and sew them into place. Cover the join with a funky button.

Instructions are written so you can make the hat in any size in any yarn. Numbers are given for Adult Medium in worsted weight wool yarn.

Gauge:

Instructions are written to plug in numbers for any size and any gauge. Numbers are given for 16 sts = 4" in stockinette stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Instructions are written to plug in numbers for any size and any gauge. Numbers are given for Adult Medium (circumference = 23"). A chart is included with measurements for sizes Preemie - Adult Large.

Materials:

  • worsted weight wool yarn, approx. 125 yards for adult medium
  • 1 large funky button
  • US8/5mm 16" circular needle
  • US10/6mm 16" circular needle
