About the designer

My nana taught me to knit when I was 6 yrs old. I have since picked up and put down the needles a lot. I think I now have a firm grasp of them permanently. Lets say I'm hooked.

(6) Name: 'Knitting : Ombellifére

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knitting and purling in the round
  • Decreasing methods
  • yarn over
  • Removing and placing markers

Pattern Description:

I saw something similar to this hat in a photograph of an actress. I loved it and wanted to make it straight away,
This hat turned out quite slouchy, almost beret like, and with a pretty circular lace work that is incredibly simple.
I still wanted to add a section for warmth so the hat could be suitable for any season, so the crown was knitted in stocking stitch to protect the area we lose the most heat from.
Ombellifre is the French word for a cow parsley flower. I think the French is much prettier!
