Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, knit using both hands

Pattern Description:

Designed at the request of a teen-age nephew (last name Snapp), this hat is quick and a great way to learn stranded knitting. Ear flaps are knitted first then the hat in knitted in the round. Edge trim and braid are added to complete the project. Instructions are also given to make the hat without ear flaps.

This is a great project for leftover yarn in your stash. The hat is in three sizes and can easily be adjusted larger or smaller.

Gauge:

5 st/inch in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 23 (24,25)" circumference

Materials:

  • 100 yds, MC, 50 yds each 3 CC colors, Black Water Abbey Worsted Weight Yarn
  • Size 6- 16 inch circular needle, Size 6 double point needles, stitch markers, tapestry needle

Suggested yarn:

220 yards of Worsted weight
