Pattern Description:

I am in love with this new Norwegian star beanie in dark blue and white.
The white stitches on top look like falling snow.
And the herringbone edge makes it even more special.

At the top is a star, shadowing the zigzag pattern of the Norwegian star.

My beanie is knit totally from 4-ply sock yarn.
Yardage about 210 m/50 g.
You can use any similar sock yarn (like Regia 4-ply or Opal).

Note: for bigger heads use bigger needle size or 5-ply yarn (e.g. Merino Buttinette Madeleine 164 yards (150 meters) /50 g) or similar yarn.

Gauge:

Knitting gauge: 1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows in stranded knitting.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

This beanie fits size S and M. (53 - 55 cm head circumreference). For bigger sizes use bigger needle size and/or 5-ply yarn or both

Materials:

40 g of off-white 4-ply sock yarn
30 g of blue 4-ply sock yarn

You Will Also Need:

Circular needle 40 cm 3.00 mm or 3.5 mm
5 double pointed needles size 3.00 mm for the top of the head
tapestry needle to weave in the ends
