Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Provisional cast-on
  • three-needle bind-off
  • knit
  • purl

Pattern Description:

Northwest Cowl is knitted flat. The scarf's end's are closed by three-beedle bind-off. The stitch pattern is easy to memorize and fun to knit.


33 sts x 28 rows in pattern stitch, slightly stretched 23 sts x28 rows, but gauge is not essential

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Length: 55 inches (140 cm), Width: 5 inches (12.5 cm)


  • US6 (4 mm) 3 dpns or circular needle 16" length, then you will need two extra needles of the same size

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends

372 yards of DK weight
