Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit Two Together
  • Purl Two Together

Pattern Description:

This pattern can easily be adjusted for children and works up quickly. The mohair in the yarn is great for covering up mistakes so this yarn and pattern is ideal for beginners. Herringbone stitch looks complicated, but it can be easily mastered especially because it is a two row pattern!

I just learned this yarn has been discontinued, however there are websites selling remaining skeins at sale prices! This is a one skein project so the determined knitter can certainly obtain the yarn called for by the pattern (ICE Kid Mohair Shine), or to recreate the yarn combine a lace weight mohair with a slim nylon ribbon yarn preferably with a variegated color scheme.

38 sts and 20 rows= 3.5" sqaure

  • fully adjustable

  • size 8 straight needles
  • size 6 straight needles
  • tapestry needle for seaming

You Will Also Need:

  • measuring tape

200 yards of DK weight
