One good thing about knitting accessories for a little girl is that it is less likely that the recipient has outgrown the size of the garment by the time the knitting is finished.
This maddy kids pattern of a scarf and mitts duo, to knit in worsted weight yarn, features a heart motif that is worked intarsia on the scarf and in duplicate stitch on the palm side of the mittens.
The heart motif on the scarf changes direction at mid-point so that the motif is not upside down when wearing. The scarf is knit in a double width and folded.
Illustrated instructions and graphs for the heart motif (in both directions), the duplicate stitch, and color placement are included in the pattern.
The knitting pattern is written in both US and metric measurements.
