Skill Level:

medium skill level requirement Intermediate

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You will need to have experience knitting from charts

Pattern Description:

Mariposa, which means "butterfly" in Spanish, is a majestic top-down, triangular shawl, with a feathery leaf motif. I designed this shawl with Nautilace in mind, a wonderfully lustrous and soft silk/camel yarn from Cephalopod Yarns --(Thank you Cacie and Sarah for your yarn support!).

This pattern is best suited to experienced lace knitters who are comfortable knitting from charts. The finished and blocked shawl will vary in size according to gauge. The shawl shown in the photo measures approximately 80" x 40" (I am a loose knitter!)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximate blocked dimensions : 80" x 40"

  • 700-800 yards of laceweight yarn, size 4 or 5 needles, blocking mats, wires, pins

Suggested yarn:

800 yards of Lace weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Cephalopod Yarn - Nautilace
