  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round
  • knit and purl

Pattern Description:

When my mom had knitted my the [cast cozy][1] I'd liked a matching beanie in the same style with a pompon on it.

So I made this "Make me smile" beanie.

Use rainbow colors to cheer you up on a dull day!

You can use any 4-ply yarn (e.g. Merino, Acrylic or sock yarn).
I used Buttinette Versailles Acrylic yarn.

Knitting gauge in stranded pattern: 1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows (2 x 2 cm: 6 stitches and 7

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This beanie fits size S (52 " 54 cm head circumreference), M - L. (about 55 " 60 cm head circumreference)


  • You need (4-ply sock yarn yardage 210 " 211 m/50g):about 15 g in green, 15 g in white, 30 g in black, 35 g in yellow, 15 g in orange, 15 g in blue 4-plysock yarn or Acrylic or Merino yarn.
  • I used 4-ply Acrylic yarn Buttinette Versailles (50 g/214 yards).
  • Circular needle 40 cm 3.00 mm and 5 double pointed needles size 3.00 mm for the top of the head.

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends
  • knitting fun!

Suggested yarn:

214 yards of Fingering weight
