Basic Skills Necessary:

Pattern Description:

Magnolie Botanicals uses a floral motif on the back of the hand and a lattice work motif on the palm. Faux ribbing "ruffle" with a vine motif cuff. Pattern includes charts for left-hand and right-hand mittens and detailed written instructions and colorwork charts.

Cuff is knit on a larger needle with 60 stitches per round. Pattern is 64 stitches per round and 101 rows, cuff to tip.

Gauge:

9 stitches and 10 rows per inch lightly blocked

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Women's medium; 64 sts per round.
  • 101 rows cuff to tip. Thumb gusset begins on row 33 and ends after row 46.
  • yardage 295 - 353.

Materials:

  • Darning needle, 12" waste yarn, 2 stitch markers.
  • Yarn: fingering weight. 130 yds of main/background color (shown in dark gray). 120 yds of flower color (shown in light pink). 85 yds of second background color (shown in dark purple/pink).
  • Needle, US 0 (2.0mm) 32" cable for Magic Loop or equivalent dpn's. Size to obtain gauge.
  • Needle, US 1 (2.25mm) 32" cable for Magic Loop or equivalent dpn's. Size to obtain gauge.
