  • Basic cabling techniques
  • knitting through the back loop of a stich
  • knitting in the round

Pattern Description:

Loch Lomond finger-less mittens are a form-fitting mitt with a beautifully crafted thumb gusset.

Instructions for this pattern are written for using the magic loop, but you may easily substitute your preferred method for small circumference knitting. All measurements are given in US and metric, and the cable pattern is charted and written for personal preference.

TO FIT
Measure hand around palm above (but not including) thumb.
6.58.5 in / 16.521.5 cm hand circumference

Gauge:

52 stitches and 44 rows to 4 in / 10 cm in 2 x 2 rib (unstretched)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • women's

Materials:

  • 180 yd / 165 m of sport weight yarn
  • US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles (see notes)

You Will Also Need:

  • 4 stitch markers
  • cable needle
  • stitch holder (or waste yarn)
