Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in one round on double pointed needles
  • knit and purl

Pattern Description:

This is the kids variation of the farm beanie.

It has a two color ribbing, followed little pigs and hens and some fences and a barn on it, the blue sky with the sun above.

Due to the many color changes it(tm)s a project for advanced color knitters. But as there are at most two colors in one round also beginners can give it a try.

Gauge:

6 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in Normal sizes (3.00 mm needle and 4-ply Acrylic or Merino yarn): Knitting gauge: 6 stitches and 7 rows in 2 x 2 cm, preemie sizes 2.5 mm needle and 4-ply sock yarn: Preemie knitting gauge: 8 stitches and 9 rows in 1 x 1 inch/2,5 x 2,5 cm

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XS (34 - 36 cm head circumreference), S (37 " 39 cm head cirumreference) /M (about 40 " 42 cm).For Preemies (XXXS = 28 " 30 cm head circumreference ,XXS = 31 " 32 cm head circumreference)

Materials:

  • 4 " ply yarn (sock yarn, Merino or Acrylic yarn)
  • 10 g in dark green, 14 g in white, 12 g in sky blue, 12 g in black, 12 g in pink, 8 g in light green,12 g in yellow, 10 g in brown.
  • a set of 5 double pointed needles 3.0 mm (normal head sizes), 2.5 mm (preemie sizes)

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle to weave in the ends
