Pattern Description:
This chunky aviator hat is simple classic design that will keep that special person in your life, cosy and warm.
If you have a stash of unused Aran weight (Worsted weight) wool you can follow this pattern and knit two strands of this lighter weight wool to achieve this lovely chunky hat.
Gauge:
5 inches (2cms) = 5sts
5 inches (2cms) = 8 rows
Materials:
- 40 -100gms wool depending on size to be knitted
- 8mm straight needles (US #11)
- US Super Bulky yarn / UK super chunky yarn or knit with two strands of US worsted weight/UK Aran weight

I left school and studied at art school for 6 years. I spent my first two years experimenting with many arts and crafts. I finally chose textiles and spent a further 4 years studying knitwear design. I so loved my time at art school and I have had a wonderful career as a knitwear designer for the last 20 years. Once you've got the bug it stays with you for life!.
