Gauge is not important to the success of this project, and is difficult to measure over the lace pattern. I recommend experimenting with different yarns and needle sizes until you obtain a fabric you love. Do note that wide variations in gauge or needle size will affect finished measurements and amount of yarn used.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Both shawls measure 44in, 112cm at the widest point and are 19.5in, 49.5cm deep from cast on to cast off .

  • Triangular (Crescent/Nearly-Square) Shawl: 220 (550) yards, 200 (510) meters of fingering weight yarn
  • US 6 (4mm) circular needle, at least 32in, 80cm long
