Pattern Description:

With Karen you get a long skinny cowl to double wrap around your neck and a pair of fingerless mitts to match. Both use an easy slip stitch pattern to add lots of texture without lots of stress!
Karen will make a great present for someone special of for yourself.


5 sts/1" in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Cowl - FINISHED LENGTH AND WIDTH: 5 1/2" wide, 40" long after light blocking
  • Fingerless mitts - Woman's small (medium, large) - circumference 7.5 (8, 9)", length 8.5 (9, 9.5)"


  • Cowl -: 220 yds light worsted weight yarn
  • Fingerless mitts -100 (100, 120) yds light worsted weight yarn
  • For cowl - #8 24-36" circular needles or 1 size larger than needle used to get gauge in stockinette
  • marker
  • For fingerless mitts - #8 double pointed needles or 1 size larger than needle used to get gauge in stockinette
  • 3 markers - 1 for beginning of round, 2 for thumb gusset
