Karamagara is a garter stitch triangle knit with a geometric lace panel for focal interest.
The name comes from a town in Turkey where there is a bridge that is possibly the earliest known pointed arch bridge. The edging of this shawl evokes the points on the bridge.
With both charts and written instructions, knitters will be able to choose their most comfortable way to follow the pattern.
23 sts/34 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on US size 6 needles
Exact gauge is not important but do note that a looser gauge will result in the use of more yardage

I first picked up a pair of needles in 2007 and became smitten immediately. It was as if this new, creative world just opened for me. Aided by my cat Ralph, who loves to lay on my blocking FOs, I started LeftSideKnits, as an outlet for my love of knitting. I began experimenting with designing in 2010 and it has quickly become my true love.
You can find me on Ravelry as LeftSideKnits.
