Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting - knit stitch
  • knitting - purl stitch
  • knitting - I-cord

Pattern Description:

This tote is knit flat in two contrasting colors then assembled and sewn together before felting. I recommend using a cable cast on whenever a cast-on is called for in the pattern. Sides are knit in a textured stitch called double moss stitch and base is knit in garter stitch. If you opt to use Plymouth Galway or Lamb's Pride yarn, you'll need about one skein of each unless you want longer handles than the samples have. As written, this pattern almost completely uses two 100g skeins.

4"x4" = 16 stitches x 30 rows (not critical)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • tapestry needle
  • button or magnetic closure
