Pattern Description:

The stitch pattern for these socks is more commonly referred to as "Eye of Partridge", and is used in a solid color on heels.

It's actually a tweed stitch pattern, of French origin, according to Barbara Walker's "A Treasury of Knitting Patterns".

When used throughout the entire sock, the resultant fabric is plush and cozy. The slipped stitch pattern may be a little slow-going, but the result is worth it!

I've worked this pattern in 2 weights of yarn, worsted and chunky, for warm and warmer-yet socks! I used Kraemer Yarns Naturally Nazareth and Mauch Chunky for the samples.

The chunky pair are my go-to winter bed socks!
