Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, decrease, increase, circular knitting

Pattern Description:

This shawl begins with a square medallion knitted in the round.Then the two sides, bottom and top edging is knitted from the medallion stitches in the applicable direction. Top and bottom eding are picked up and knitted on.

Gauge:

22 sts and 31 rows = 4" / 10 cm in St st with larger needles, blocked.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 16" (40.5 cm) deep and 68″ (172.5 cm) wingspan

Materials:

  • US size 5 / 3.75 mm 32″ or longer circular needle and set of double-pointed needles same size
  • US size 3 / 3.25 mm 32″ or longer circular needle

  • Stitch holders, stitch markers, tapestry needle
