This will be my first project that isn't a scarf! So, can someone suggest a yarn for this particular project? I know the sample is in purple, but did anyone else use another color they liked really well? Just looking for a little input before I get started! :)

Downloading to MAC - Sorry this comment is a long time after the question, I hope it helps someone. First, I would check all your Mac software is up to date. I didn't have trouble downloading this to my Mac but there is another way of doing it; if you click download, the pattern should come up in Preview. If you try to save it, it will tell you that the pattern is locked but you can save it as follows: SAVE - DUPLICATE - SAVE, then choose where you want to save the pattern. Hope this works for you.

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.8 and didn't have any problems opening the pattern.
