Basic Skills Necessary:

  • ability to use double pointed needles
  • able to read a stranded colorwork chart
  • able to knit stranded colorwork in the round

Gauge:

26 sts and 26 rds= 4" in Fair Isle Colorwork pattern from the chart worked in the round on larger needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 21" around and approximately 9" from cast on edge to the finish

Materials:

  • 7 colors of sport weight wool
  • I used Halcyon Victorian 2 Ply. Natural for the main color and purple, wine, olive, chartreuse, light blue, & pink for the body of the hat.

You Will Also Need:

  • US size 3 (3.25 mm) 16" (40 cm) circular needle
  • US size 4 (3.5 mm) 16" (40 cm) circular needle
  • set of US size 4 double pointed needles
  • marker
  • tapestry needle

Suggested yarn:

126 yards of Sport weight
