Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting in the round
  • knit and purl
  • wrap and turn

Pattern Description:

Round and round and round she goes, colors blend and colors flow. Knit this cowl in the round with a self-striping, gradient, or long color run yarn to get stacks and steps of color throughout. Short rows interspersed in the rounds provide texture and break up the colors.


17 sts to 4"(10 cm) in textured pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 58" (147 cm) circumference and 4.25" (11 cm) wide


  • 220 yards of worsted weight yarn in a self-striping or gradient colorway
  • US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needle, at least 48" (120 cm) long
  • 1 unique stitch marker for end of round
  • 6 stitch markers for travelling markers
  • tapestry needle
