An indication of expression and tempo in music, Grazioso is a directive to play smoothly. elegantly and gracefully. This lace scarf, wrap or stole with its flowing linear stitch pattern and structure is knit in one piece using a provisional cast on and is uniquely framed by picots on all sides. A deceptively easy knit, this pattern would make a great travel project for experienced knitters and a good lace project for adventurous beginners!
charted pattern only
The Poco size is approximately 375 yds and the dimensions measure 12" x 52". The green Poco size was knit with Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud in colorway Tidepool. Pics 9 -11 were knit with Strandavarious Merino Lace Weight.
The Mezzo size is approximately 675 yds and the dimensions measure 17.5" x 70" and was knit by Betty Farnham in Buffalo Gold Lux. She won a blue ribbon at the NM State Fair with her Mezzo version!
A suggestion for Grande would be at least 900 yds however the test knitting for this size is still in progress. I will add this information as soon as it is available.
Of course these approximations will vary based on yarn, needles and the number of repeats you choose to do.
Gauge is not really important. If you choose to use a heavier weight yarn and larger needles you will need to keep this in mine when considering total yardage.
900 yards of Lace weight

I live in Albuquerque NM & even though I grew up completely surrounded by all things fiber and knitting related I only started knitting in 2008. Now that I've spent a few years within the fiber & knitting community I cannot imagine not ever being a part of it. I love lace and its my current passion in my design work & I'm excited to see that growing & evolving over time.
Where ever you are in ...
