Granita is a two-color striping shawl with lace inserts. It is knit in one piece from the center-top outward. With both charts and written instructions, knitters are able to choose the most comfortable way to follow the pattern.
It can be easily customized by changing the number of chart 2 repeats. You could also choose to omit the stripes and knit the whole shawl with one color of fingering weight.
20 sts/32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on US size 6 needles
Exact gauge is not important but do note that a looser gauge will result in the use of more yardage
I first picked up a pair of needles in 2007 and became smitten immediately. It was as if this new, creative world just opened for me. Aided by my cat Ralph, who loves to lay on my blocking FOs, I started LeftSideKnits, as an outlet for my love of knitting. I began experimenting with designing in 2010 and it has quickly become my true love.
