My husband's Aunt had been looking for a knitted monkey infant hat pattern for her soon-to-be-born grandson that featured little arms that hugged onto the infant's head. Having been unable to find anything I offered to design one for her instead. The outcome I have to admit is SUPER adorable, and so I'm so glad she brought it up, and I'm glad I was in a position to offer.
Infant through Child sizes are worked in Worsted/Aran weight yarns on 4mm/US6 needles. Adult sizes are worked in Bulky/Super Bulky weight yarn on 6mm/US10 needles.
Required Yardage spans from 100yards in Worsted/Aran for Infant size to 230 yards in Bulky/Super Bulky for Large Adult.
Pattern includes instructions on how to convert this hat to a Sock Monkey (including intarsia charts for the lips), a Brown Bear, a Panda and a Hippo.
For Infant, Toddler & Child sizes:
21sts x 28 rows = 10cm/4"
For Small/Medium & Large/X-Large Adult:
15sts x 19sts = 10cm/4"
230 yards of Worsted weight

She’s Australian, ridiculously upbeat, nice and is very ALL or NOTHING when it comes to her tastes. If something is found to be good it is LOVED BEYOND BELIEF, but otherwise its relegated to being really a bit crap ;)
