Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting in the round with at most two colors in one round

Pattern Description:

This supercute rectangular giraffe cowl is real fun to knit.

Cowl measurements: height 15 cm, width 25 cm (front and back each)

Note: there are also matching Giraffe beanie available.

I knit it with sckli Buttinette 4-ply sock yarn (white and dark brown) and Opal uni 4-ply sock yarn light brown.
But you can use any 4-ply sock yarn you have in your stash or Acrylic or Merino yarn of similar weight.

Knitting gauge: 1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows in stranded knitting

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Cowl measurements: height 15 cm, width 25 cm (front and back each)


  • 35 g of off-white 4-ply sock yarn, 35 g of light brown 4-ply sock yarn, 20 g of dark brown 4-ply sock yarn.
  • You can also use Merino or Acrylic yarn of similar weight
  • Circular needle 40 cm 3.00 mm.

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight
