Pattern Description:
I love fingerless mitts as you can still use your fingers for certain tasks such as using a phone. I also really love FairIsle at the moment but didn't want the pattern to be too complicated for an inexperienced knitter.
These mitts follow a fairly simple shaping and the FairIsle parts accent the mitts to add interest.
Gauge:
30sts to 10cm/4"
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 18cm/7" ladies, 20cm/8" mens hand circumference
Materials:
- US1-1.5/2.5mm DPNs or circular needle 100cm/40in
- 4ply yarn in 4 colours (approx. 150yds main colour, 25yds of 3 others)
You Will Also Need:
- 3 stitch markers
- waste yarn
- darning needle
Suggested yarn:
225 yards of Fingering weight

I have been an avid knitter for the last 6 years or so, but have done it all my life really. I remember making a couple of huge Kaffe Fassett projects in the early 90s, but then didn't knit again until 2006 when I stopped working.
I belong to two local knitting groups, one of which I organise, and am known for trying to convert everyone to knitting socks. I give impromptu sock knitting lessons ...
