Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should know how to work in the round using dpns and have the confidence to follow a Fair Isle chart.

Pattern Description:

If you've ever felt the need to throw caution to the winds and take to the roads with a gypsy caravan and an accordion, this is the beret you need to to reflect your lighthearted approach to life. It combines simple lace and straightforward Fair Isle design with gorgeous naturally dyed organic wool from France.
Wear it with the matching Frivolitee Socks for the maximum effect.


28 stitches and 38 rows = 4"/10cm using 2.75mm/size 12 needles measured
over plain smooth fabric

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished beret measures 12"/32cm across


  • 40 cm 2.75mm/size 12 circular 60cm 3.25mm/size 10 circular 1 set of five double pointed needles 3.25mm/size 10

You Will Also Need:

  • If you decide not to use the suggested yarn then choose a 4-ply/ fingering weight with a bit of body so the beret keeps its shape.
