Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit stitches, make a stitch by knitting into both the front and back of a stitch, knit two stitches together, cast off, and seam the finished work - skill level beginner/intermediate. A pair, for an average skilled knitter, should take approximately two hours to complete.

Pattern Description:

These beautiful little baby and toddler mittens are knit in a thick garter stitch to keeps your little one's hands toasty. The rolled cuff design holds the mittens gently and securely on hands without ties. Based on a classic European style mitten, these were designed by a knitwear designer in Lyon, France.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Mittens can be knit in either baby or toddler size (both are shown in photo).


  • One skein soft medium size 4 yarn (will only use a partial skein) Pair of size 4.25 mm (US 6) needles Darning needle Scissors

Suggested yarn:

125 meters of DK weight
