Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round

Pattern Description:

84 fishes - big and small ones - are swimming around this beanie!
It(tm)s real fun to knit this pattern and you need only 50 g of blue and white 4-ply sock yarn.
And it looks really cool!

This beanie fits size S and M. (about 54 to 56 cm head circumreference).

For bigger heads use needle size 3.5 mm.

Knitting gauge: 1 x 1 inch: 8 stitches and 9 rows in stranded knitting

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This beanie fits size S and M. (about 54 to 56 cm head circumreference)
  • Note: For bigger heads use needle size 3.5 mm.
  • Or 5-ply yarn or both


  • 50 g of jeans blue 4-ply sock yarn and 50 g of off-white 4-ply sock yarn.
  • Alternatively you can use 4- to 5-ply Merino or Acrylic yarn
  • Circular needle 40 cm 3.00 mm and 5 double pointed needles size 3.00 mm for the top of the head.

You Will Also Need:

  • knitting fun!
  • a tapestry needle to weave in the ends

Suggested yarn:

230 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Buttinette sckli (any similar yarn will do)
