Pattern Description:

Pattern is written in both worsted and bulky weight yarns

Hat and scarf are knit using a yarn over stitch pattern, giving the appearance of a cable stitch--only simpler.

Worsted (medium to heavy weight): 4 sts = 1"
(16 sts = 10cm)
Bulky: 3 sts = 1" (12 sts = 10cm)

  • Hat is in 2 sizes from child to adult (20 - 22" head circumference)


  • Hat: worsted weight: 87 (120) yds
  • Hat: bulky weight: 80 (100) yds
  • Scarf: worsted weight: 160 yds
  • Scarf: bulky weight: 150 yds
  • Hat: worsted weight: US 9 in 16-inch circulars and dpn's
  • Hat: bulky weight: US 10 in 16-inch circulars and dpn's
  • Scarf: worsted weight: US 10 straights
  • Scarf: bulky weight: US 11 straights
