Pattern Description:

Yardage: Small - 400 yards / Large - 650 yards

Fantasia - A thing that is composed of a mixture of different forms or styles.

The Fantasia shawl was originally released as a mystery knit-a-long. It has 4 distinct sections in the pattern. Each section is fully written out and charted.

The pattern is written for 2 sizes. The smaller size (61" wingspan) required 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. The larger size (91" wingspan) uses 650 yards f fingering weight yarn.

Design begins with a provisional cast on. It is worked from the center of the wingspan out and down toward the longest row.

Gauge:

Pre-Blocking: 20 sts / 30 rows = 4" in St st Post-Blocking: 16 sts / 28 rows = 4" in St st

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Small: 61" wingspan x 18" depth / large: 91" wingspan x 26" depth

Materials:

  • 1 skeins Fiddle Knits Polka [400 yards; 100 grams; fingering weight; 100% superwash merino], colorway: "Sugarplum"
  • US size 6 circular needle (32" length or longer)
  • 1 set dpns in same size as main needles
