Pattern Description:

Starting with a bit of i-cord (instructions included for working i-cord), this lacy beret is knit from the top down based upon the principle of Pi as described by Elizabeth Zimmermann in Knitter's Almanac using a Miniature Leaf lace pattern adapted from Barbara Walker's A Treasury of Knitting Patterns.

Gauge:

12 stitches x 16 rows = 4" in miniature leaf lace pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Adult Medium, 22-inch head circumference, 12-inch diameter

Materials:

  • 100 yds sport weight yarn
  • US6 double-pointed needles
  • US10 double-pointed needles
  • US10 24-inch circular needle

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle
  • stitch markers

Suggested yarn:

100 yards of Sport weight
