Skill Level:

little skill level requirement Novice

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit
  • purl
  • yo
  • slip stitches

Pattern Description:

This is a top-down, semi-circular shawl. An
innovative, but easy, double-knit side edge is
incorporated as you knit, so other than darning in
ends, there is practically no finishing at all.

The rolling inner and outer edges symbolize the lives
that touched my grandmother, Eulalia, and the lives
that she touched. I think we are never truly finished
with our life's work, but we wouldn't have a place to
start, if it weren't for those who came before us.

5 sts to the inch, in garter stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 55" across and 26" deep, from the neck to the lower hem.

  • I used 3 skeins of Madelinetosh, Tosh Merino Light in Thicket. I didn't need all of the third skein.
  • #8 needles, or whatever you need to use to get gauge.

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 stitch markers

Suggested yarn:

1260 yards of Fingering weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Tosh Merino Light
