Entrelac is a really fun technique which results in a cool looking project. This bag is suitable to carry small knitting projects, such as socks or a scarf. It is also suitable as a purse.
Entrelac is a lot easier than it looks, and this pattern was created to teach it. You will make the bottom of the bag in the round. Then you will start the entrelac sides. You work one triangle (at the beginning) or one rectangle (the body) at a time. The sections connect to each other as you go by picking up stitches and knitting stitches together. The pattern has complete instructions for each section. The size of the bag can be changed by adding or subtracting segments. Lining the bag is optional.
Once you master this, you will be doing it again and again !
10 stitches/ 4 inches, and 28 rows/ 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
I am an independent knitting designer enjoying lots of knitting after retiring from practicing law. I love most kinds of knitting, and I teach knitting in the Sacramento area.
