Here's a super quick, easier-than-sleeping pattern designed especially for brand new knitters! Knit flat and seamed, with no particular fussiness about gauge, you can make these longer or shorter depending on how many stitches you cast on (two sizes are given in pattern, but please feel free to adjust and play). Samples were knit in Lamb's Pride Bulky, which works up super squishy and warm due to the 15% mohair-- but try any bulky weight yarn or hold some of your softest worsted double.
Great stash buster-- throw in some stripes!
approximately 3 sts = 1inch, but it hardly matters.
75 yards of Bulky weight
|Women, Men, Petite, Tall, Plus-sized|

I have a Masters in Crafts Education! I love to teach people new skills. I hail from Western NC, but I moved to Brooklyn in late 2011 and it thrills me daily. I’m a crafts teacher, glass artist, fledgling designer, and I often babysit (so that I might better have a chance at crafting a wee savings account for myself). Now I live and work on a beautiful piece of land outside Asheville, NC, teaching crafts and music and dance and gardening to high schoolers.
While living in Williamsburg, VA I worked part time at my LYS and part time as the arts teacher at a local Montessori school. I moonlight as a crafts teacher during the summer at an overnight camp in Brevard, NC. For six months, I lived and created a great body of craft work at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC (while working as a student host for 6 months). I'm also one of the organizers of the Brooklyn Contra dance, and have been active in social dance scenes for more than a decade now.
I like colorwork, cables, cardigans, EZ, silk/wool blends, and autumn colors. And purple-blues. And lists.
