For the hat you should be able to: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, to do short rows and yarn overs.
For the gloves you should be able to: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, do yarn overs and you should be comfortable with working small diameters in the round.

Pattern Description:

This glove and cap set has been inspired by the roaring twenties, the time of Charleston, flapper girls and two-seaters. The driving gloves close with cute little buttons, feature a back cut-out and eyelet patterns on thumb and fingers. The snugly fitting driving cap " which owes its charm to its unusual flat construction " will protect your finger-waved hair from the wind as you gad about, with eyelets on one side and a little flap and button detail on the other. This is the perfect set to add a bit of vintage glamour to your daily life!

Gauge:

26 sts x 35 rows = 10 x 10cm/ 4 x 4 in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Cap: One size to fit most female heads. Cirumference approx. 55cm/21.5.
Gloves: S (M, L) for a circumference of 17 (19.5, 22)cm/6.5 (7.5, 8.5) measured at the widest part of the hand.

Materials:

Needles: Cap: a 3mm (US size 2.5) circular needle (min. 30cm/12 long). Gloves: a set of 3mm (US size 2.5) double pointed needles.
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn: uses approx. 1 skein for both.

You Will Also Need:

For both: Sewing needle and matching thread to sew on buttons, tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Cap: 1 small (14mm/0.6) button.
Gloves: 1 stitch marker, 2 to 3 stitch holders, 2 small (approx. 10mm/0.4) buttons.
