Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, increase, decrease, simple short row shaping, i-cords

Pattern Description:

A little pet dragon to wrap around your neck - long enough for an adult as well as a child. Looks great in all sorts
of colours.

One of a series of scarves for children (and adults with a quirky sense of humour!).
All have a head with a mouth that you can thread the tail through.


18 sts, 34 rows on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles in garter
stitch (knit every row) and DK/8 ply yarn = 10 cm


  • DK/ 8 ply yarn: main colour x 100 gms, first contrast colour x 30 gms, second contrast colour x 10 gms
  • optional: small amount feathers or eyelash yarn in red/orange for flames

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 pr 4.5 mm (US 7) needles
  • 2 double pointed needles size 3.75 (US 5) or 3.5 mm (US 4)
  • tapestry needle for sewing, a few safety pins
  • pair of 18 mm sew-on "joggle" eyes

Suggested yarn:

350 yards of DK weight


purple or green or red or ... dragon colour!
