(6) Name: 'Knitting : Dotted

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl and read a chart

Pattern Description:

Can you connect the dots and complete this shawl? See how they flock on a stockinette background and form a pattern. As soon as you like the size, finish it off with a radiating edge.

Dotted is a shawl that is somewhat more than half a circle. Requiring 400-650 meters of yarn. 9 (14) stitch markers are recommended to help you keep track of the sections. Pattern includes a small and a large version and the possibility to choose between nupps and beads.

White shawl used 63g JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk 2/18 50% merino, 50% silk; 630yd/576m per 57g on 3.5mm (US 4) needles. Large version with nupps. Blocked size 146 x 68cm (56 x 27 inches). Gauge is 19 stitches per 10 cm in stockinette.

Purple shawl using 1 skein Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Lepidoptra 100% merino, 420 yd/384 m per 100g skein on 4 mm (US 6) needles. Small version with beads. Blocked size is 99 x 56 cm (39 x 18 inches). Gauge is 19 stitches per 10 cm in stockinette.
