Pattern Description:

Diamonte is a crescent shaped shawl knit in one piece from the center-top outward. It is shaped by all the increasing done on the edging. With both charts and written instructions, knitters are able to choose the most comfortable way to follow the pattern.

Gauge:

26 sts/36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on US size 5 needles

Exact gauge is not important but do note that a looser gauge will result in the use of more yardage

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 46" across (opening wider because it was blocked with a curve) by 16" down spine

Materials:

  • Approx. 450 yards of fingering weight yarn
  • Testers used anywhere from 437 yards to 521 yards total, depending on gauge.
  • 1 US size 5 (3.75 mm), 32-inch circular or length preferred for weight of yarn

You Will Also Need:

  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Stitch markers for marking edgings, if desired
