Pattern Description:

I'm pretty crazy about the lovely yarns by Sarah Dimond, The Plucky Knitter. Sarah is mad about all things chevron. Together, I think we are both head over heels for this shawl, Dancette. In architecture, dancette is an ornamental molding that features a zigzag pattern. Here, the zigzag edging gives this shawl that extra something!


20 sts and 36 rows= 4" over st st after blocking

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 55" wide and 23" long at center points, after blocking


  • ~325-350 yards fingering weight yarn for MC & ~260-285 yards fingering weight yarn for CC, such as The Plucky Knitter Primo MCN 75/20/5
  • Size US 6 (4.0mm) or size to obtain gauge, knitting needles

You Will Also Need:

  • Instructions are written for a top-down shawl. Both charted and written instructions are provided for the chevron edging.
  • Tapestry Needle
