About the designer

I have been crafting since childhood, but really took knitting properly in 2004, and dressmaking in 2012 (pretty recent).

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cast on and off
  • Knit Stitch
  • Knitting in the round (any technique)
  • Decreases and Increases

Pattern Description:

Instead of a slouchy beanie this is a slouchy beret so you get a beautiful line of shaping at the back of the head. The brim adds interest too instead of another bit of ribbing!

This hat is worked in the round. I suggest starting with DPNs and moving onto circulars purely out of personal preference - but any circular technique is fine.

200 yards of DK weight

Sublime Extra Fine Merino
