Pattern Description:

The transition from womb to world is a startling one newborns love to be snuggled up tight! This layette set features an oh-so-cozy matching cocoon and hat with a beautiful textured stitch and simple cabled detailing around the edges. Cocoon features a dip in the front for baby's face so that the back neck can be covered. One size fits babies up to about 6 monthsat which time they will be more about exploring than being swaddled. Cocoon is worked top-down with stitches picked up for
the cabled border. Hat is worked from the bottom up and shown in Preemie size on 5-day-old Oliver.

20 sts and 34 rows per 4 inches in Texture Pattern

  • Cocoon Finished Circumference: 16.75 inches
  • Cocoon Finished Length: 25 inches
  • Hat Size: Preemie(Newborn, 6 months)
  • Hat Finished Circumference: 9.5(12, 14.5) inches

  • Tools: Size 9(5.5 mm) 16" circular needles and set of 5 DPNs, cable needle, stitch marker
  • Yarn for Cocoon: 300 yards worsted weight yarn
  • Yarn for Hat: 60(70, 85) yards worsted weight yarn
