Pattern Description:

Cat got your knitting? This sweet mitt and hat set makes a fun colorwork project and is a great gift for lovers of cats and kittens. Both the hat and mitts are worked in the round, keeping finishing to a minimum.

34 sts x 36 rows =4" in stst on size 2 US (2.75 mm) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. Note that stranded colorwork tends to pull your knitting in, so it is suggested you go up a needle size for stranded rows. I.e., if you get gauge in plain stst using size 2 (2.75 mm) needles, use a size 3(3.25 mm) needle for the stranded rows.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • For mitts, sizes are child (adult). Finished circumference around palm is approximately 6 (7.75)".

  • For mitts: 75 (125) yards in main color (MC), 50 (65) yards in contrast color (CC)
  • For hat: 100 (125, 150) yards in MC, 40 (50, 60) yards in CC
