Pattern Description:
Looking for an unusual, unique and personal gift for a special bride? What could be more personal than a beautiful knitted wedding garter? Make one in a color to coordinate with the bride's flowers or make one in blue for the something old, something new..... well you know the rest ? For a dramatic look make the garter in black or red! These cozy garters are perfect for an autumn or winter wedding, or make them in cotton sock yarn for a spring or summer wedding. They use a small amount of sock yarn and laceweight mohair yarn, so check your yarn stash for that little bit of yarn you have left over from other projects! The pattern includes directions for three styles, two beaded garters and one cabled garter. They knit up quickly and also use several techniques that can be used when knitting other projects. I hope you enjoy creating these beautiful garters for yourself or as a gift!
Gauge:
5.5 stitches and 8 rows per inch in stockinette stitch
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 16"-20" for small/medium
- 18"-22" for large/x-large
Materials:
- 100 yards sock or fingering weight yarn for each garter
- 100 yards of lace weight mohair yarn for each garter
- For beaded garters:
- size US 3 (3.25mm) 16" circular knitting needles
- size 6/0 seed beads
- 3/4" elastic
- size US 13 (.9mm) crochet hook
- Size US F (3.75mm) crochet hook
- For Hugs and Kisses Garter:
- size US 4 (3.5mm) 16" circular knitting needles
- cable needle or straight needle
